...It is small , having only one state bedroom and what is rather extraordinary without a single sleeping apartment attached for the use of Maids of House or other attendants; there is a pretty suite of rooms arranged accordingly to colour, the draperies and furniture of course corresponding, Reds, white & gold and blue being the principal; these are adorned by numerous paintings & vases, among the former is one of Don John the sixth, who seems to figure on all the walls of the Portuguese Rl.
