                                is a transcript of the journal in the Special
                                Collections and Archives at King's College
                                  London. "The
manuscript
                                diary of Charles Morgan Gillham, an officer on
                                board HMS Implacable. The Implacable was
                                stationed at Lisbon from April to July 1839,
                                after which she sailed in a convoy for Malta and
                                Turkey. The diary covers the period from Sunday
                                24 March 1839 to Friday 13 September 1839 [this
                                is mistakenly given as August in the diary]".  With
